Common questions
Do you offer managed ISP services or outsourced support?
Not anymore. For years Swift Fox was a bundled service — our software plus our own engineers running networks and answering phones for ISPs — but we discontinued the managed side in 2024 to focus entirely on the software platform. If you're looking for hands-on network engineering, we're happy to point you toward independent consultants we trust. The software itself still comes with two hours of free onboarding and direct support from us.
Is Swift Fox cloud-hosted, or can I run it on-premises?
Swift Fox is software as a service, hosted by us and billed monthly. The only thing on your network is a small pingbox (a VM, a cloud tunnel, or an embedded device) that connects out to our cloud. There's no self-hosted or one-time-purchase edition — if your ISP requires an on-premises platform, we're not the right fit, and we'd rather you know that up front.
Do I have to replace any of my gear?
No. Monitoring works across every major radio vendor (Cambium, Ubiquiti, Mimosa, MikroTik, Netonix, and more) plus FTTH and MDU ethernet, with no new equipment. The automation features (shaping, captive disconnects, CGNAT, MPLS balancing) use a MikroTik router at your upstream edge, and our Pathbox appliance covers networks without one.
Are there contracts or minimum terms?
No contracts and no setup fees — pricing is month to month, per subscriber, with monthly minimums of $50 to $250 depending on tier. You can leave any time, and your card data is tokenized so it moves with you.
Who answers when I need help?
A network engineer who has run a WISP, usually the same day. There's no community-forum support tier, every setup guide is public at swiftfox.net/docs, and onboarding includes two hours of working alongside a Swift Fox engineer.
