What happens when you sign up
- You tell us your ISP's name, pick the address you'll sign in at (something like yourisp.swift-fox.net), and enter your email address.
- We send you a confirmation email. Once you click the link in it, your Swift Fox is set up in a minute or two, and the page shows you how it's going.
- You choose a password or set up a passkey, and you're signed straight in to your network map.
- The network map walks you through connecting a pingbox and finding your devices. If you're running OSPF on MikroTik routers, logging in to one router is enough for Swift Fox to find the rest and add them all at once.
What you'll need
Swift Fox reaches your network through a pingbox. The easiest option is a cloud pingbox, which is just a tunnel from your MikroTik edge router to one of our cloud locations, so there's nothing to install (the pings cross your internet connection, so expect about 0.5 Mbps each way per 100 subscribers being monitored). You can also run the pingbox as a virtual machine or on a Raspberry Pi, or order a pre-configured one from us. The pingbox setup guide covers each of these.
For the full network automation feature set you'll need a MikroTik router at the edge of your network, or one of our Pathboxes. Monitoring and alerting work without one, but shaping customers to their package speeds, captive disconnects for non-payment, TCP latency monitoring and MPLS traffic balancing all rely on it.
If you'd rather have someone walk you through it, book a demo or send us an email and we'll get you set up personally.
